Book Review-The Noticer by Andy Andrews

This was the first book that I have read by Andy Andrews. Andrews takes Jones and makes him an archetypal figure of an angel or Jesus. Jones travels from place to place and lives, well, no one seems to know. Jones is known by most and considered a friend. He is a mystery and yet familiar to many with whom he comes in contact. He becomes a very important part of the town and the lives of its inhabitants. He moves through the town, touching lives, and leaving an indelible impact the townspeople will not soon forget. Jones' physical presence, while not imposing, looms with great authority and wisdom that the people of the town cannot seem to figure from where this authority and wisdom comes.

Jones meets the townsfolk where they are in various life situations. He assists them with looking differently at their concerns by challenging them to understand the importance of "perspectives." Jones helps them to see that change comes with a change in perspective. While it seems very simple, it is easier said than done, or so they think.

Andrews does a very good job of taking a biblical perspective, challenging our focus (problems or problem solver), our thoughts, and revealing the application of perspectives as the answer to life's challenges. The overall message of the book was inspiring and encouraging. It challenged me personally. I would recommend this book to anyone needing renewal of spirit, hope, belief, and encouragement.
